Getting from Corfu Airport to Sinarades: Taxi, Bus and Car

Corfu International Airport terminal

The quickest way from Corfu International Airport to Sinarades is by taxi. The distance is about 8 km, the journey takes roughly 20 to 25 minutes, and the fare is usually around €30 to €45. You can also take a bus or hire a car, and each has its place.

By taxi: the simplest option

A narrow road through old olive trees, Corfu

If you have been travelling all day, a taxi is the least stressful choice. You walk out of arrivals, give the driver the name of the village and your address, and arrive about 20 to 25 minutes later.

  • Cost: roughly €30 to €45, depending on time of day and luggage.
  • Good for: late arrivals, first-time visitors, anyone without a hire car.
  • Tip: Agree on the fare before you set off, or confirm that the meter is running, and tell the driver you are going to Sinarades, near Agios Gordios.

If you are coming from the New Port instead, for example off a ferry, a taxi takes about 20 minutes and costs roughly €25 to €35.

Tell us your arrival time and we can help with the details. Our Getting Here page is the best place to start.

By bus

Green KTEL buses serve the area, and they are the cheapest way to travel. In outline:

  • Buses leave from the KTEL terminal on Eptanisou Avenue in Corfu Town.
  • Route B14 serves Sinarades. Route B10 (Agios Gordios) calls at the village on some journeys.
  • Tickets are roughly €1.50 to €5.

The catch is that you will first need to reach the terminal from the airport, and then fit around the timetable, which is quieter in the evenings. Check current times before you plan on it. It suits flexible travellers with light luggage, rather than late arrivals.

By hire car

A hire car is the best option if you want to explore. Sinarades is a short drive from the airport, and there is free public parking a short walk from the loft. You will have the freedom to reach beaches such as Agios Gordios and the others nearby, as well as the sights covered in our things-to-do guide.

Some points to keep in mind:

  • Village roads can be narrow, so a smaller car is easier.
  • Book early for busy periods.
  • Check what your licence and insurance require before you travel.

Before you travel

A few small things make arrival day smoother.

  • Save the address. Keep it on your phone, and ideally written down, so you can show it to a taxi driver or enter it into a map.
  • Download an offline map. Signal can be patchy on village roads, and a saved map saves you stopping to check.
  • Think about your first meal. If you land in the evening, you may not want to look for somewhere to eat. A few basics from a shop on the way will see you through to the morning.
  • Tell us your flight details. The more we know about your arrival time, the better we can help.

Arriving at the loft

We use self check-in, with a lockbox, so you can arrive on your own time. Check-in is from 3 PM and check-out is by 11 AM. If your flight lands early or leaves late, tell us in advance, and we will see what we can do. You can find these details and more on our Contact & FAQ page.

Once you are in, there is a fully equipped kitchen, so it is worth stopping for a few basics on the way if you arrive in the evening. Ask us what is nearest.

Leaving again

On the day you depart, check-out is by 11 AM. The airport is only about 8 km away, so the journey itself is short, but give yourself a generous margin for the usual airport procedures. If your flight is in the afternoon or evening, a relaxed breakfast on the balcony and a late stroll can fill the morning. Tell us your flight time in advance and we will see what we can do about luggage and timing.

A taxi back is as straightforward as the one coming in. If you are driving a hire car, remember to check the return arrangements with the rental company before you leave the village.

Which option should you choose?

  • Arriving late, or tired: taxi.
  • Watching the budget, with time to spare: bus.
  • Planning to see the island: hire car, at least for part of the stay.

Whichever you choose, you are close: about 8 km separates the airport and the village. When you are ready, you can see the loft and book direct, which is cheaper than booking through the big platforms. See our direct-booking offers.
